Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk revealed earlier this week that tricky winger Arjen Robben won't play in Holland's World Cup opener against Denmark, but physio Dick van Toorn has now announced that the Bayern Munich star could play on Monday.

"I think that Arjen will be match fit in time for the match against Denmark. Of course, the coach could make the decision not to play him due to tactical reasons, but it can't be said that he's still injured," said Van Toorn to TZ.

"Head coach Bert van Marwijk has a different opinion on the matter though. He feels Arjen shouldn't play because he missed a number of training sessions, even though he's fully match fit.

"However, I feel different about this. Arjen's fully match fit once he doesn't have pain any more. And once he's fit, he should always play. Arjen is very brave and is doing his utmost to recover as soon as possible."

Despite Van Toorn's comments that Robben could play against the Danes, it appears unlikely that Van Marwijk will take any risks with the tricky winger.
