World Cup 2010: Spain Defender Joan Capdevila Insists Team Comes First

He's happy with whatever role the coach gives him...
Spain defender Joan Capdevila has declared that it is a priviliege to be involved with the national team and declared that regardless of whether he starts or not, the most important thing is the success of the team.

The 32-year-old Villarreal stopper started from the bench in la Furia Roja's last friendly against Saudi Arabia, suggesting that Real Madrid defender Alavaro Arbeloa has climbed above him in the pecking order for a starting place but Capdevila is not concerned.

"That's good, that there is competition and everyone feel important. I was playing but now it seems I play less. In any case it is a privilege and a prize. I accept and try to give the maximum from within or from outside, the important thing is that the team will operate regardless of whether I play or not," he told a press conference.
