World Cup 2010: South Africa Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira Ready To Drop Players From Final Squad

Parreira i ready to deliver the bad news.
Bafana Bafana head coach Carlos Alberto Parreira says he will have face-to-face conversations with the players he will drop from the squad.

The Brazilian will publicly announce the axed list tomorrow after today's international friendly match against Guatemala at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

"I will decide what to do, but of course I'm going to talk to them personally, either in a group or individually. I cannot just announce that five players are out without having spoken to them. I'm going to tell them face-to-face why they are being dropped from the team. This will be the best way," said Parreira, according to

Innocent Mdledle, Shu-Aib Walters, Anele Ngcongca, Lance Davids and Franklin Cale are touted as possible casualties. Parreira, though, says it won't be a walk in the park making the decision.

"We must only take 23, but it is always a tough decision, a very sad one. Everyone is here working hard and they want to be part of Bafana Bafana in the World Cup and suddenly you are cut off. But this happens with professionals, life goes on. But they all know the situation. We brought 29 players and the FIFA lawsare very clear. We can only take 23," he said.

"After the game [against Guatemala] we are going to announce the squad on June 1. We can't wait a day longer," Parreira added.
