The Samurai Blue has a couple of months to work out a method for stopping the FCB ace...Watching the performances of Bayern Munich ace Arjen Robben from the other side of the world hasn’t prevented Japan coach Takeshi Okada from worrying about the problems the Dutch star will cause his side when they meet in the World Cup this summer.
Drawn in Group E along with the Netherlands, Denmark and Cameroon, Japan will be aiming to reach the knockout stages of the competition once again, but Okada is extremely wary of what in-form Robben is capable of achieving with the Oranje.
“Robben is an unbelievable player,” he told Sankei Sports. “I do not know how you can stop him. He can score amazing goals like [on] Wednesday [in the Champions League semi-final against Olympique Lyonnais].
“You just cannot mark each of the Netherlands’ players. The Dutch can strike from anywhere, which is totally different to Japan.”
The Samurai Blue meet the Oranje in their second game of the competition, following on from their opener against Cameroon on June 14.
