Paraguay 1-1 South Africa: Bafana Hold South Americans To Draw

Bafana's unbeaten run in South American continues.
The second-string Bafana Bafana squad have kept their unbeaten record intact, drawing 1-1 with Paraguay in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The South Africans had to come from behind in the international friendly played in Asuncion after Marcelo Estigarribia had scored in the 37th minute with a powerful header.

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala, who earlier in the tour scored the winning goal against Joel Santana’s Botafogo, levelled matters in the 72nd minute courtesy of a scorching 35-metre drive which gave Victor Centurion no chance.

While Estigarriba and Rojas Rodrigo were outstanding for the hosts, it was Rodolfo Gamarra who was their Man of the Match, justifying his call-up by coach Geraldo Martino with some dazzling runs which unlocked the Bafana Bafana defence time and time again.
