World Cup 2010: Spain Coach Del Bosque Gives Barcelona 'Keeper Victor Valdes A Finals Lifeline
The Barca shot stopper may yet receive an international call-up...

Despite twice collecting the Zamora Trophy for being the best goalkeeper in Spain the 28-year-old Catalunyan custodian is yet to win one international cap for la Furia Roja and with a wealth of options at his disposal, Del Bosque has followed the lead of previous coach Luis Aragones by not picking the Barcelona shot stopper.
Now however Del Bosque has suggested that he may yet get the chance to play for his country.
"There is good competition and so far I have not found the need to call him [Valdes] because we have good goalkeepers," he is quoted as saying by Sport.
"Valdes has an enviable track record. Barca won the many titles last season. I encourage him to continue working and continue fighting as the doors are not closed to anyone."
