Chelsea have today confirmed that right-back Jose Bosingwa will miss the rest of the season with his knee injury.
The Portuguese international will require another operation on the injured joint and will also miss this summer's World Cup in South Africa.
Meanwhile, Ricardo Carvalho has returned from international duty with Portugal this week with a tight hamstring.
The centre-back will have the problem assessed further before Sunday's home game with Stoke City.
