World Cup 2010: Slovenia Can Reach Last 16 - Matej Mavric
The Slovenian defender is optimistic about his side's chances in South Africa...
By Stefan Coerts
"I was very pleased when I saw the draw and I’m confident we can make it into the next round. It's going to be hard but it's definitely do-able. England are the favourites of course, but USA and Algeria are decent sides too," said defender Matej Mavric to FIFA.com.
"We have a good team ourselves and we can get through to the next round if we work together. We're always there for each other both on and off the pitch. That helped us a lot in qualifying and was probably the most important factor behind our success.
"Qualifying for South Africa was a fantastic achievement, especially when you consider we're only a country of two million people. When I look back, more and more fans have supported us with each passing game and that's great to see. The 2010 World Cup is going to do Slovenian football the power of good."
