World Cup 2010: South African Coach Roger De Sa To Serve As Assistant Coach For Portugal

De Sa will rejoin his old pal Queiroz for the month as Portugal gun for glory.

Bidvest Wits coach Roger de Sa will be Carlos Queiroz's assistant coach during Portugal’s World Cup campaign later this year.

De Sa, along with physical trainer Craig Lewis and fitness coach Zac van Heerden, will join up with Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. during the month-long showpiece tournament in South Africa later this year.

De Sa and Queiroz know each other well, with the former having been goalkeeper coach during Queiroz’s rein as Bafana coach between 2000 and 2002.

“I’m very happy to serve in this capacity, especially at such a big tournament,” De Sa told KickOff.com.

“It will be great for my personal experience, and obviously will also help Wits in the process.

“It shows that whilst I might not be appreciated locally, my work is still being recognised by some people.”
