With the World Cup fast approaching, Brazilian legend Pele has offered the latest in his famous predictions.

Speaking about the impending tournament at a Copa Libertadores press conference, Pele said, "Spain is the best team in the world, as they proved last year."

"They have the strongest squad and are the favourites."

Pele then cautioned that the best team does not always win the tournament, continuing, "In Spain '82, Brazil was the best team, but they lost to Italy."

"The same thing happened to Holland, who lost two finals to Germany, and Argentina, who had the best team of all."

Pele then spoke of the Selecao's chances, stating, "Brazil has a great squad."

"Dunga has gained good experience ans results.

"Brazil are in good form and will be a protagonist at the World Cup."

Finally, Pele also talked up Argentina's chances, saying, "They have a squad with great players."

"They have experience in the World Cup and are another one of the favourites."
