Young Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Toni Kroos could make it into the Germany squad for the 2010 World Cup after head coach Joachim Loew revealed that he's keeping tabs on the Bayern Munich loanee.

"Of course, his outstanding performances from before the winter break didn't go unnoticed. I'm very interested to see how he plays in the second half of the season," said Loew to Express.

"There's little doubt about it that he has superbly developed in the past couple of months. We'll see whether I'll select him for our World Cup squad, but he's definitely a candidate."

The 20-year-old Kroos is a product of the Bayern Munich youth academy and is widely regarded as one of the most exciting youngsters in the Bundesliga.

The midfielder has yet to make his official debut for Germany's senior side, but Kroos has represented the Nationalelf at under-21 level several times.
