Spain Coach Vicente Del Bosque: Barcelona's Pedro Could Be Called Up For World Cup
Pedro Rodriguez's phenomenal year could culiminate in a call-up from Spain coach Vicente del Bosque for next summer's World Cup in South Africa...
In an exclusive interview with Marca, Spanish national team coach Vicente del Bosque has alerted Barcelona's Pedro Rodriguez that he is in the running to be one of the 23 players he will take to next summer's World Cup in South Africa.
"Pedro is a possible World Cup player with or without the goal he scored in the Club World Cup final against Estudiantes", said the mustachioed Spanish coach. "In his position, we have a number of talented players, but we have six in particular that we are considering for the final squad list."
Pedro has been a hugely positive surprise for Pep Guardiola's Barcelona side and recently made history by becoming the first player ever to score in six different competitions during the course of a season.
Other players that Del Bosque is reportedly considering include Real Madrid's Raul who is now two years on from his last appearance for his national side. "I have a personal appreciation for Raul. I do not want to speak of tributes because he continues to be a player I am considering," declared the Spain supremo.
