World Cup 2010 Exclusive: Giorgos Karagounis Believes Greece's Opening Match Will Be Decisive
The Greek national football team captain says that their game against South Korea will be extremely important...
Greece have been drawn with Argentina, Nigeria and South Korea in
Group B for the upcoming World Cup finals in South Africa.
The Greeks will start their campaign against South Korea and captain Giorgos Karagounis spoke exclusively with Goal.com and said that their opening fixture against the Asian side is going to very important.
"From our side, we want to give our best and I think we can make it, if we are all right. We have ambitions. Our opening match against Korea is the most decisive one. If we win it, then we will show what we can do," he said.
"In a World Cup, there are no easy draws. However, Argentina are the big favourites not just to win the group but also to fight for the trophy until the end.
"On the other hand, Nigeria are doing better and better every time they reach the World Cup finals. As for South Korea, they too pose considerable threats as opponents. They have very fast and dangerous players and let's not forget what they managed in 2002," he concluded.
