thumbnail Hello,

Despite the fact that both are seen as tough draws, with exceptional opponents in each of the groups, journalists from Africa are happy with the outcome.

Ali, a freelance photographer from Mozambique believes that the Cameroon draw is a great one for them, while classifying Ivory Coast’s group as the 'Group of Death'.

"Cameroon can certainly beat Denmark and Japan, but Netherlands will be a different story. The Dutch are tough and they often give African sides a hard time. I don’t see problems with the other two.

"Ivory Coast have been drawn in the Group of Death, but it will be good for African football as they are the toughest of the six pack of African representatives and the matches against Portugal and Brazil will be highly entertaining," he concluded.

Nigerian television presenter George was more interested in the other two Western African powerhouses, rather than his Super Eagles.

"I would love to see Cameroon and Ivory Coast both progress as they have what it takes. Brazil and Portugal will provide such beautiful football, and the Elephants are lucky to face such incredibly strong opposition, as it will allow them to grow."

Felix, a French cameraman who was born in Cameroon, thinks that "The Indomitable Lions can find a place in the last 16 with wins over Japan and Denmark, and they will have to go for it against The Netherlands. Either way, the African sides at the competition will have some special matches to play."
