Spain are set for glory in the World Cup finals next summer, as not even Brazil will be able to cope with the depth of talent in Vicente Del Bosque's squad, according to the honorary president of Real Madrid, Alfredo Di Stefano.

The 83-year-old, who is regarded by some as being the greatest player of all time, believes that the teamwork and the quality of la Seleccion means that they are destined for success in South Africa.

"The national team, up until two or three years ago, had great players but didn't have a team," he explained to the latest edition of the Spanish football federation's magazine.

"Now they have won the European Championships and assembled a team which is doing marvellously well, and that is what the Spanish fans want.

"They treat the ball very well, are a very effective community and everyone knows what they need to do in their own position.

"We must recognise that they are a very good team with what they have achieved. As good as or better than Brazil. No one has the team that Spain have."

Di Stefano also lauded the work of Del Bosque, who took over from Luis Aragones in the wake of la Furia Roja's victory in Euro 2008.

"The work that Luis did with the group was extraordinary and this is continuing with Del Bosque. I've never seen Spain so happy with their national team."
