Sevilla Star Adriano Eyeing a World Cup Place With Brazil
He says Dunga knows what he can do...
Versatile Sevilla star Adriano has declared that it would be a dream to make the Brazil squad for next summer's World Cup finals in South Africa and also says that his club are to thank for his improvement as a player.
"My thought is to return to the national team. Dunga knows what I can do, but I will keep working to get my opportunity and not miss it. I dream of playing in the World Cup and have great faith and hope to be among the 23 invited," he told AS.
Adriano also remarked that his versatility and ability to play in a wide variety of positions is largely down to the faith shown in him by Sevilla coach Manolo Jimenez and the Brazilian believes that Los Nervionenses have enough quality to win the UEFA Champions League this season.
"He [Jimenez] recommended that I be much harder in that area [on the left flank] and the truth is that I am much stronger now than in Brazil. I've learned to get to crosses and loose balls with greater intensity," he declared.
"Since I came here the people have been excellent, I can not complain, I only have words of thanks, they have always been confident in my work and we have won titles. The team is very ambitious, our thought is to improve and we know it is difficult but we have a good team. Winning the Champions League would be the ultimate."
