South Korea Impress Denmark Coach Morten Olsen
The Taeguk Warriors are not afraid to battle it out...
Denmark national team coach Morten Olsen paid tribute to a
South Korean team that demonstrated they can live with the physical aspect of
European football.
The two 2010 World Cup qualifiers battled out a goalless draw in the Danish city of Esbjerg on Saturday.
Both teams had a few chances to break the deadlock but were unable to do so.
The last time Denmark played the East Asians was prior to the 2006 World Cup when the Europeans powered their way to a 3-1 win in Hong Kong.
The match was different this time on a wet pitch though the Danes were missing a number of players due to injury.
“It was an OK match,” Olsen told reporters after the match. “When you consider our new strikeforce and the poor condition of the grass then it wasn’t a bad result for us.”
“I was very impressed with the excellent physical capability of the Korean team. They made it hard for us all the way through the game.”
Denmark take on United States on Wednesday as South Korea move to London to face Serbia.
