Denmark 0-0 South Korea: World Cup Contenders Draw A Blank

A match without efficiency...

Denmark and South Korea shared the spoils in a match that leaves both sides under no illusions as to their World Cup 2010 chances.

The Danes started the better side at the newly-remodeled Blue Water Arena in Esbjerg, with Jakob Poulsen coming close with an early drilled effort.

Morten Rasmussen then had a great chance but fired wide of the post when through on goal.

Similarly South Korean attacker Dong Gook Lee should have given his side the lead, only to fail to really test Thomas Sorensen.

Christian Poulsen missed a sitter before the break, but then South Korea had the ball in the net early in the second period, only to be denied by the linesman's flag.

As substitutions took place the quality of the game decreased, and a goalless outcome seemed inevitable.
