Greece Midfielder Kostas Katsouranis Confident Ahead Of Ukraine Clash
Katsouranis will be charged with leading a mission of vengeance against the Ukrainians, and he is positive that the result will be positive for his side...
Euro 2004 winners Greece will rely heavily on in-form Panathinaikos midfielder Kostas Katsouranis when they take-on Ukraine in their World Cup play-off encounters, and the 30-year-old is confident his side will emerge triumphant.
Greece will be gunning for revenge in this tie - it was the Ukrainians who were responsible for their absence at the 2006 World Cup.
"Two very good teams will be playing, but in the end I believe that we will qualify," Katsouranis is quoted as having said by Reuters.
"We
want a victory and a clean sheet, but even if there is a goalless draw
in Athens then our hopes are still alive. They are in very good form at
the moment but we are optimistic."
Greece start the two-legged tie with a home game on Saturday before travelling to Ukraine for the return leg four days later.
