Carlos Queiroz has looked to dispel the strife between the Portugal national team and Real Madrid caused by Cristiano Ronaldo's injury problems.

Ronaldo has travelled to Portugal to undergo a series of medical tests that will finally put an end to the tug-of-war. Queiroz has denied claims that he would risk making the injury worse by playing the winger if he isn't fit.

"I want to simplify an issue - there is no imposition [on Ronaldo's participation], there is a sense of responsibility," he affirmed to Marca.

"We have called up the players who we think can help the national team. We believe that if we take a decision that is in the interest of the player, it will be in the interests of everyone - of the club and of the national team."

Queiroz added that he wanted to "put an end" to the topic as he is unhappy with "details of injuries being debated in the public sphere".

"Don't believe all the lies that are being said. I ask that you trust the [Portuguese Football] Federation when they disclose the information and data [on Ronaldo's injury]," he concluded.
