Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan has made it clear that the Pharaohs are full of confidence ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifying game against Algeria.
Already the Egyptians have put their lives on the line in away matches against Rwanda and Zambia, and on both occasions they have recorded a 1-0 success.
"Those away wins will only mean something if we complete the job at home on Saturday," Hassan said on FIFA.com. "I know Algeria are in a better position, but I also feel that our team is superior.
"Algeria are an excellent team who've really progressed in the last two years. We'll need to show plenty of humility and forget our title as African champions. We'll be going into the match with the knowledge that we have to wipe out a two-goal deficit against our strongest opponents in the group.
"It's a unique moment, without doubt the most important of our careers. Our generation has dominated African football for the last few years, but only qualifying for the World Cup would put the proper seal on that," the gifted midfielder continued.
"We believe in God and in our own quality and we know we deserve this qualification."
A two goal success against Algeria would leave the sides tied at the summit of the group, meaning another encounter would be necessary. Anything greater than a two-strike win would send the Pharaohs to South Africa, but less would see them stay at home.
