The Italian chief is hoping his new comments will finally put a lid on all the voices surrounding 'Il Talentino's' continued exclusion from La Nazionale.
It was Garrone who claimed there was an "ugly story behind Cassano's exclusion", but he retracted that statement on Wednesday afternoon following a hornets storm of protest.
He has now asked for the matter to be put to bed.
"The drama between Cassano, Lippi and Garrone is closed," he told the press.
"Lippi and Abete said it was closed too, therefore it's no longer the time to be talking about it."
