Youngster Dominic Adiyiah Called Up To Ghana National Side To Face Mali
The Ghana squad that will face Mali in a forthcoming World Cup qualifying match is drawn heavily from the successful Under-20 side, with a good handful of players being promoted...
Dominic Adiyiah, who was top dog at the recent Under-20 World Cup, has earned his first call-up to the Ghanaian national team
for this month's World Cup qualifier against Mali.
According to the Ghanasoccernet, coach Milovan Rajevac has also called several players from Ghana's Under-20 team, which won the World Cup in Egypt last month.
Goalkeeper Daniel Agyei and central defender Daniel Addo have also earned their maiden call-ups to the Black Stars. Andre Ayew returns to the national team after more than one year away.
Defender Samuel Inkoom and midfield dynamo Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu were also named in the pool for the game against Mali on November 14.
With defenders John Mensah and midfielder Laryea Kingston yet to recover from injuries, Addo and Badu are likely to get starting berths.
Agyei, who impressed in Egypt, is assured of a place in the matchday squad as he is the only other custodian called for the game, aside from Richard Kingson.
Rajevac is using the game to assess the players as he seeks to build his team for the 2010 African Cup of Nations.
