Algeria’s Karim Matmour: Ziani And Bougherra Will Be Ready To Face Egypt
The Bundesliga-based player believes that the two instrumental players in Algeria’s squad will recover from their respective injuries in time for their final qualifier in two weeks.
Algerian international midfielder Karim Matmour has told Al
Heddaf that he is confident that his injured Fennecs team-mates, Karim Ziani
and Madjid Bougherra, will both be fully fit and ready to face Egypt on
November 14 in Cairo.
“You know, ever since the day they got injured I didn’t doubt for one second that they’d be ready to in time. You couldn’t find one player in the national team that would want to miss the match on the 14th. It’s unthinkable! That’s the reason why I don’t have any doubt that they’d be with us on the pitch,” he explained.
“Ziani and Bougherra are warriors and when you’re a warrior, you don’t want to let go before the end of the battle. Thus they’ll be amongst us on the field in Cairo, God willing.”
While Matmour may be confident, it is still not absolutely clear whether either Ziani or Bougherra will be in top shape in two weeks since they are still not completely over their knocks and will not have many chances to play in competitive fixtures to test their fitness before the big game against the Pharaohs.
