The Third Goal Is Half Quagliarella's - Italy Hero Gilardino
Italy star Alberto Gilardino talked about tonight's hat-trick against Cyprus in the Azzurri's final World Cup qualifier.
Despite being 2-0 down to Cyprus until the 77th minute, Italy completed an incredible late comeback to win 3-2 thanks to a hat-trick by Alberto Gilardino at the Ennio Tardini stadium of Parma.
The Azzurri's striker talked about his performance, and particularly about his third goal, which he thinks may actually have been scored by Fabio Quagliarella.
"The third goal? Let's say it's half mine, half Quagliarella's," he said to Rai. "Today we struggled, but in the second half we played the ball more and improved."
On the possibility of the likes of Amauri and Antonio Cassano joining the squad, Gila said: "I always just try to be ready and today it went well for me."
Finally, on Saturday afternoon's Juventus-Fiorentina match, the Viola striker commented: "After these goals I am charged up for that game, scoring always helps. We'll think about it from tomorrow, we have two days to prepare a match which is strongly felt in Florence."
