Germany Coach Joachim Loew Targets Moscow Triumph
The Germany gaffer is eager to beat Russia on Saturday...
Germany national coach Joachim Loew is eager to pick up the full three points in Moscow on Saturday when they take on Russia. The Germans have a one-point lead over their opponents with two more matches to go in Group 4 of the UEFA World Cup qualification zone.
"We cannot afford to play for a draw. We have got to try to attack and get a goal. Russia will have their chances so we have got to try to win there," said Loew to ZDF.
"Without a doubt they have some great individuals. They are on the same level as us and we have seen that in recent years, particularly at the last European Championships. It is a very important game for us and it is also very important for the Russians, but we will be very well prepared.
"The fact that the match will be played at artificial turf is no excuse to put in a disappointing performance. We have trained at a similar pitch in Mainz to prepare for this match."
