Vahid Halilhodzic, coach of the Ivory Coast national side, has published the list of the 23 players he has picked to play the game against Malawi in Blantyre on October 10.

The Bosnian manager created quite a stir at the press conference when people realised he was calling up defender Diarrasouba Viera for the first time, discarding experienced Abdoulaye Meite in the process.

Cote d'Ivoire lead Group E of the joint qualifiers of the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola and the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Boasting a very comfortable advantage, a draw would ensure the Elephants their ticket to the World Cup.
