Rabah Saadane Reveals Call-Ups For Zambia Clash
The Algerian coach has named 25 players in the squad which will face Zambia in Blida.
The roster is identical to the one he initially intended to use against Uruguay before he was forced to replace Bochum’s Antar Yahia and Nacional de Madeira’s Rafik Halliche with Abdelkader Laifaoui and Smail Diss from Entente Sportive de Setif.
Algeria ended up winning the encounter on the back of some outstanding goalkeeping from ES Setif’s Faouzi Chaouchi and ASO Chlef's Lounes Gaouaoui as well as a brilliant strike from AEK Athens striker Rafik Djebbour.
The North Africans will be seeking to repeat the feat against the Zambians whom they managed to convincingly beat in Chililabombwe by the score of 2-0 during their first encounter in these qualifiers.
However, they will not be playing the match in Algiers as had been previously announced and will instead return to the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida due to pitch concerns and player preferences for the familiar venue.
Here is the squad in full:
Bougherra Madjid (Rangers FC), Halliche Rafik (Nacional Madeira CD), Belhadj Nadir (Portsmouth), Mansouri Yazid(Lorient FC), Matmour Karim (Borussia M'Gladbach) Bezzaz Yacine (RC Strasbourg), Saifi Rafik (Al Khor (Qatar) Ghilas Kamel Fethi (Hull City) Djebbour Rafik Zoheir (AEK Athènes) Ghezzal Abdelkader Mohamed (Sienne) Bouazza Hamer (Sivasspor (Turquie) Ziani Karim (VFL Wolfsburg) Yahia Antar (Bochum VFL) Meghni Mourad (Lazio de Rome) Gaouaoui Lounes (ASO Chlef), Zaoui Samir (ASO Chlef), Ousserir Nassim (CR Belouizdad), Raho Slimane (ES Setif), Lemmouchia Khaled (ES Setif), Chaouchi Faouzi (ES Setif), Laifaoui Abdelkader (ES Setif), Meftah Mohammed, (JS Kabylie), Abdesslam Cherif (USM Annaba), Achiou Hocine (USM Alger), Baabouche Reda (MC Alger)
