Jaouad Zairi Wants Recall To Morocco's National Team

The Olympiakos player says he will gladly represent Morocco if he is called up by the new technical staff.

Former Asteras Tripolis winger Jaouad Zairi has told mountakhab.net that he is prepared to represent the Atlas Lions if he is called up for the upcoming encounters.

The declaration comes a few days after the player was included by the newly-installed technical staff in an expanded list of pre-selected players who might be picked to play in the August 12 friendly versus the Democratic Republic of Congo.

“Of course I’ll be present if, God willing, I am called up. Now, after the staff changed, we’ll need to create a collective spirit and to all work for a common objective. We can’t advance if we don’t all move in the same direction and on the same road,” he explained in the interview.

The Taza native was included in a similar pre-selection list by the now departed Roger Lemerre prior to the qualifier versus Togo in Rabat but was never called up for the encounter.

Meanwhile, the player also took the opportunity to indicate that he is extremely happy with his new club, Olympiakos, and that he believes that it’s the best club he’s ever been a part of.
