Giggs: Chinese Manchester United supporters are fanatical
The Red Devils veteran is looking forward to returning to the Far East and admits to being amazed by the unwavering following the club receives there
Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs has hailed the club's supporters in China ahead of a pre-season excursion to the country. The Red Devils will spend a week in South Africa before moving on to China to meet Shanghai Shenhua on July 25 in the Chevrolet China Cup.
The match will see United renew hostilities with former Chelsea stars Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba, both of whom recently left the Premier League for the Far East.
And Giggs has revealed the enthusiasm amongst the Manchester United squad over returning to a country with such passionate supporters.
The 38-year-old told the club's official website: "The players love coming to China because we know the fan base we have in the country. The fans are fanatical and it's a great chance to see them first hand.
"They support us throughout the year and to see them at the games and at training as well will be great.
"Hopefully the Chevrolet China Cup will be a good match and the fans will come and support us and enjoy themselves.
