The 25-year-old is reportedly due to receive a portion of the money that Spurs will pay the Amsterdam club to sign him on a permanent deal, but so far it has not been forthcoming
Vertonghen is positive that a move to the Premier League will be good for his career, but terms between the two clubs have yet to be finalised.

Reports in Dutch newspaper de Telegraaf suggest that the 25-year-old is not as highly paid as many of his team-mates, and as a result there is a clause in his current contract stating he will receive 15% of the transfer fee should he make a move to another club.
But Ajax are reportedly not willing to hand over Vertonghen's cut, although no reason has yet been stated.
Should the deal fall through, Vertonghen is likely to continue playing in Amsterdam for a further year before leaving Ajax as a free agent when his contract ends next summer.
