Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy has confronted Roberto Mancini in the tactician's first training session with the team, according to The Sun.

The Italian, known for his no-nonsense attitude, is said to have doubled the dosage on the practice pitch, causing severe discontent among the squad.

He is also believed to have imposed a new rule, insisting that players stay at a hotel the night before a home game.

Taking charge of his first session with the Eastlands club, 'Mancio' reportedly had his charges on a heavy duty workout for two-and-a-half hours.

Bellamy, who is nursing a recurring knee problem, allegedly stopped midway, causing instant friction between player and gaffer.

It is said that Mancini was unaware of the Welshman's problem, despite former boss Hughes having the hitman on a special regime.
