Chelsea Goalkeeper Petr Cech Admits Error For Tevez Freekick
Czech international holds hands up after defeat at Eastlands…
Chelsea suffered their third defeat of the Premier League season at the weekend, when a Carlos Tevez free-kick evaded Petr Cech's grasp to ensure Manchester City secured a 2-1 win.
The Blues 'keeper was criticised after the game by manager Carlo Ancelotti, who claimed the No.1 could have done better with the Argentine's goal.
"It was a very poor free-kick and it finished in the back of the net because I anticipated too much. I made a step to the wrong side just before Tevez fired the shot.
"At that moment it was too late to move to the other side to save the ball. It was a soft goal to concede."
Ancelotti said: "This season, I think Cech has done very well.
"I like him, he takes the responsibility and likes to come out and catch the ball in the box. He could do better if you ask me about the free-kick on Saturday."
