1. Argentina vs. Mexico, 5 Jun 2008 - an emphatic effort to start this top 5 off in style.
2. Argentina vs. Ivory Coast, 7 Aug 2008 - Messi was mainly a provider at the Olympics, but here he shows that he has the finish, too.
3. Barcelona vs. Basel, 4 Nov 2008 - a nice team move and a well-placed finish.
4. Barcelona vs. Sevilla, 29 Nov 2008 - one of two in this match, and the better one at that.
5. Barcelona vs. Real Madrid, 16 Dec 2008 - Messi shows his skills on the counter-attack to seal an historic win.
