Lionel Messi is one of five nominees for the FIFA World Player of the Year award, and with the kind of videos below it's not hard to see why.

2. Argentina vs. Ivory Coast, 7 Aug 2008 - Messi was mainly a provider at the Olympics, but here he shows that he has the finish, too.


3. Barcelona vs. Basel, 4 Nov 2008 - a nice team move and a well-placed finish.


4. Barcelona vs. Sevilla, 29 Nov 2008 - one of two in this match, and the better one at that.


5. Barcelona vs. Real Madrid, 16 Dec 2008 - Messi shows his skills on the counter-attack to seal an historic win.
