Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has declared that his team cannot relax and insists they are "motivated" to claim the FIFA Club World Cup title in Abu Dhabi next week.

The Blaugrana conclude domestic duties for 2009 this weekend against city rivals Espanyol before travelling to the United Arab Emirates to contest the world club tournament.

So far the Club World Cup trophy has eluded Barca and Valdes recalls the last time they took part in the tournament in 2006 and thinks they are in better shape to claim the crown this year.

"This World Cup comes at a different stage, after a great year and with the team full of confidence. In 2006 we were not overconfident but our opponent played a good final and the ball wouldn't go in for us," he told a press conference.

"The fact that the club has never won this motivates us on a personal and team level."
