Club World Cup Would Complete A Perfect Year For Barcelona - Victor Valdes
He says Barca will go out to win the trophy in Abu Dhabi...
The club world championship is the only trophy missing from the Camp Nou trophy cabine,t and this December's tournament in Abu Dhabi will be the third time the Catalan outfit participate in it as European champions.
"I can assure you we will be going all out in the Club World Cup. Neither I nor most of my colleagues have won this title. We have made mistakes in the past and do not want to repeat those again," he told Sport.
"It is special because Barcelona have never won this competition. And besides, winning the Club World Cup would culminate in a perfect 2009."
Barcelona have more pressing matters before the trip the the United Arab Emirates however, most notably securing their place in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League, and Valdes says that coach Pep Guardiola has them well drilled on the importance of the task at hand.
"The coach had us warned of the difficulty of the draw and everyone should know that this team will give everything in the two games we have left," he declared.
