Bordeaux have reached an agreement with Valenciennes to acquire the services of Tunisian international playmaker Fahid Ben Khalfallah, according to L’Equipe. Details on the length of his new contract have yet to surface but the transfer fee is said to be between €4 and €5 million.
With this, the player recruited to replace Yoann Gourcuff will likely set a new transfer record for a Tunisian player.
Bordeaux’s first offer was reportedly turned down by VFC on Wednesday but they were able to get their man by upping their bid.
Meanwhile, Valenciennes have moved to sign Mathieu Dossevi from Le Mans to soften the blow of losing one of their top performers from last season. The Northern club originally signed Ben Khalfallah from Caen for €2 million. His contract with them was set to expire in 2012.
