Valencia have confirmed that Timo Hildebrand can join whatever club he likes for nothing in the winter transfer window as they aim to remove the troublesome keeper from their squad.
Los Che have given up any hope of turning the German custodian around and will let him leave for free in January to end the saga that has seen him go from first to third choice.
The club's vice president, Fernando Gómez Colomer, told reporters that the keeper can go "to any club without a fee", which has alerted several Bundesliga sides.
After joining Valencia from VfB Stuttgart in 2007, Hildebrand was seen as Santi Cañizares' replacement but few predicted that events would turn out like they did.
While the two keepers fell out and allegedly argued in training before refusing speak to each other, Cañizares' time at the club was swiftly ended by Ronald Koeman who froze him out.
When the Dutch coach left, his successor Unai Emery brought in Renan Brito from Brazil and Hildebrand went into free-fall and is reported to have refused to play or train with any willing.
Fortunately for the for German international, his stock is still high in his homeland after his performances for Stuttgart and a number of clubs have already made enquiries.
