As if Valencia haven't got enough fire-power up-front already, it
appears that they could bolster their squad even further this January
with the signing of 'the next Romario.'
Keirrison da Souza Carneiro, who plays for Coritiba, is, according to Sport.es, being tracked by Valencia with a view to a winter bid for the Brazilian.
The talented youngster has been a revelation this year and has attracted the eyes of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including the mighty Barcelona. However, Valencia seem to be closest to signing him and with his unusual ownership they could well do so this January despite the reluctance of the club.
Business company, Traffic, currently own 80% of the player whilst his club only own 20% of him. At first it was thought that the former wanted to see him grow in Brazil but now, with him excelling for his side, they are keen to cash in on him.
The reported fee is about €10-12 million, but of course Coritiba are reluctant to let their star player leave so soon. The only problem for them is that if they do not let him go now they are more than likely to see him leave on 30 April when they lose their ownership of him. Traffic are reportedly wanting to buy all his rights before that date and, according to the Spanish newspaper, they are currently in negotiations with Valencia about a transfer.
