La Liga Team of the Week: Cristiano Ronaldo hits a treble as Fabregas returns to form
Goal.com is on hand to look at the standout performers on matchday 6 of La Liga, as Real Madrid enjoyed a convincing victory and Barcelona left it late against Sevilla
Round 6 of La Liga saw several comfortable wins for the home sides, with the likes of Real Madrid, Osasuna, Valladolid and Malaga scoring plenty of goals on their own patches, while only Barcelona and Atletico Madrid were victorious on the road. Our team of the week has a familiar look in goal as Tono makes his second appearance in a row, after another fine performance in the nets against Celta Vigo at home.
His defence begins with Atletico Madrid right-back Juanfran, whose cross led to the match-winning goal as Los Rojiblancos kept a precious clean sheet in Barcelona against Espanyol. Full-back Joao Pereira also gains a place thanks to his role in helping Valencia keep a clean sheet, while Antonio Rukavina takes the final place at the back, after his fine strike against Rayo.
In midfield Cesc Fabregas' two goals for Barcelona, Raul Garcia's crucial game-winning strike for Atletico and Oscar Gonzalez's double for Valladolid all earn them a place in the team. And they are joined by central midfielder Iriney, whose driving display from the middle of the pitch helped Granada to a win over Celta Vigo.
Upfront, it's a simple case of goals, goals, goals, with former Manchester United striker Manucho bagging two and setting up one for Oscar for Valladolid, Cristiano Ronaldo hitting a hat-trick in the comfortable Real Madrid 5-1 win at home against Deportivo La Coruna, and Antoine Griezmann breaking the deadlock against Athletic Bilbao and putting in a Man of the Match display from his advanced role on the left for Real Sociedad. Our three attackers, thus make up the matchday 6 team.
