Throughout the season, Weidenfeller has typically had little to do in his goal. But on Saturday, he had to be at his best as Wolfsburg pushed the title holders until the final minutes, and nearly forced a draw. But the experienced goalkeeper pulled out all the stops to ensure his side conceded just once, as he helped his side to the points in a 3-1 win.

Stuttgart maintained their strong run of late-season form on Saturday with a 4-1 win against Mainz. Japanese full-back Sakai did the work of two players on the day as he tirelessly ran up and down the right flank, and in addition to his solid defensive work, he supplied an assist. If Hertha avoid relegation this term, they will owe much to Hubnik, who several times this year has proven to be his side's saviour in defence. In Saturday's scoreless draw with Monchengladbach, he was the Man of the Match as he kept the Champions League hopefuls off the scoreboard. In what was arguabbly his best game since joining Koln on loan, Jemal helped keep Bremen at bay, and scored the equaliser to earn his side a critical point in their battle against relegation.

Freiburg came back from two goals behind against Nurnberg to earn a draw, with much credit to Makiadi. The Congolese midfielder scored the equaliser to return for his second Team of the Week (TOTW) appearance in three weeks. For the third consecutive week, Gundogan makes the grade in defensive midfield. In BVB's 3-1 win against Wolfsburg, he was the man who dictated the flow of play. He was also able to get forward at will and score his side's second.

Schalke duo Raul and Farfan makes up the TOTW attacking midfield set up after combining for two goals and three assists in S04's 3-0 win against Hannover on Sunday. The 34-year-old Spaniard scored twice, including a peach of a second, while the Peruvian provided the service for all his side's goals.

Ibisevic was the target man to deliver the finishing touch for Stuttgart on Saturday, as his two strikes lifted the Swabians clear into fifth place in the table. Gomez scored his 24th and 25th Bundesliga goals of the season on Saturday, and his contributions made all the difference for Bayern in their win against Augsburg. Lewandowski missed one clear chance against Wolfsburg, but atoned for his mistake as he opened the scoring before completing his double late on to assure three points for the leaders.
