Team Of The Week:

Round 30

Table/Results

GOALKEEPER

Guy NDY ASSEMBE
Nancy
TOTW Apps: 3

Nancy's Guy Ndy Assembe makes his third appearance in the Team of the Week after thwarting title challengers PSG at Stade Marcel Picot. The ASNL custodian was a thorn in the visitors' side as he denied the capital club's attackers with a number of saves and interceptions. Dethrones last week's choice Hugo Lloris and Dijon's Baptiste Reynet, both of whom receive honourable mentions.

DEFENDERS

Kevin T-CATHERINE
Rennes

  Sebastian PUYGRENIER
Nancy

 Benoit TREMOULINAS
Bordeaux
TOTW Apps: 4

Kevin Theophile-Catherine enters the TOTW after impressing in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Lyon. The Rennes defender looked comfortable at the back, helping to keep a very poor Lyon side at bay for much of the game, whilst also creating a few chances.

Sebastian Puygrenier had a game to remember as he helped Nancy to a shock 2-1 victory over PSG. Alongside goalkeeper Ndy Assembe, the centre-back proved to be the difference, and it is certain that without his presence, les Parisiens could've taken three points.

Benoit Tremoulinas is one of two players to feature in the Best XI for the third consecutive week after again impressing in Bordeaux's frustrating 1-1 draw with Dijon. Tremoulinas was a handful for the visitors, even though les Girondins failed to pull away from Marseille in eighth place.

MIDFIELDERS

Yohan MOLLO
Nancy

Kamel CHAFNI
Auxerre

Yann M'VILA
Rennes

Max GRADEL
Saint Etienne
TOTW Apps: 2

Yohan Mollo was undoubtedly the star of Nancy's 2-1 victory over PSG, a game which he tormented the sorry visitors. Mollo scored one, an 89th-minute winner and made the other as he condemned Carlo Ancelotti to a first Ligue 1 defeat.

Kamel Chafni of Auxerre joins the list after guiding bottom club Auxerre to a much-needed 2-0 victory over Valenciennes. Chafni netted once, as he helped his side's chances of beating the drop.

Max Gradel
of Saint Etienne also makes the grade after impressing despite Saint Etienne's 3-2 defeat to Nice on Saturday. The former Leeds man looked comfortable in the middle of the park, and showed his talents with his passing, regularly opening up the Nice defence.

Arsenal target Yann M'Vila again displayed his credentials for all to see, helping Rennes to a 1-1 draw with Lyon. M'Vila looked composed on the ball, stifling the visitors' attacks with a series of well-timed tackles and interceptions as les Rouge et Noir battle for a European place.

Eden HAZARD
Lille
TOTW Apps: 6
Like Tremoulinas, Eden Hazard makes it three straight appearances in the TOTW. And like M'Vila, the Belgian wonderkid doesn't look like staying in Ligue 1 after yet another standout performance. Hazard was amongst the goals once again as Lille secured a nervy 2-1 victory over Toulouse. The Belgian has guided les Dogues from faltering champions a few weeks ago to unlikely title contenders as they moved to within four points of PSG and Montpellier.

FORWARDS

Mevlut ERDING
Rennes
TOTW Apps: 1

Anthony MOUNIER
Nice
TOTW Apps: 2

Mevlut Erding was one of Rennes' better performers in his side's 1-1 draw with Lyon on Sunday. The Turkish international opened the scoring, and continually troubled les Gones throughout the game. Should have doubled his tally, but was denied by Hugo Lloris' fine save.

Rounding off the TOTW for Round 30 is Nice's Anthony Mounier, who performed admirably in les Aiglons' shock 3-2 win over high-flyers Saint Etienne. Mounier was a constant threat up front, and ended the night with two goals as Rene Marsiglia's men boosted their chances of survival.
