Not many goalkeepers who have been beaten four times get a place among the week's best players, but Samir Handanovic is truly worthy for the No.1 jersey after his one-man defensive display against Fiorentina kept Inter's heads above water for long spells when all around him had abandoned ship.
There was a stand-out showing at the back from Felipe as Siena climbed off the bottom of the table with a shock 3-0 win over Lazio, while Daniele Portanova was also a defensive rock at Genoa held off Udinese to record three points themselves. Sampdoria earned an unlikely point from their trip to Napoli thanks in part to the excellence of Andrea Costa's defending, but Matteo Rubin went one better by getting Siena off to a flying start with two assists in the opening quarter against the Biancocelesti.
Across the middle there were notable performances from Borja Valero, a metronomic presence in Fiorentina's demolition of Inter, and Juraj Kucka, whose winner against Udinese could prove vital to relegation-threatened Genoa come the season's end. Sergio Almiron also struck the only goal of the game as Catania beat Bologna at the Massimino to retain seventh spot.
Our three forwards were the outstanding men of the week though, each earning five stars for their magnificence over the last few days. Stevan Jovetic was back in sparkling form and netted twice as Inter were humbled, Francesco Totti rode his luck to see off Juventus with a blockbuster of a finish and a captain's performance for Roma, while Innocent Emeghara continued his fantastic start to life at Siena with a double as the Robur continue to live in hope of avoiding the drop.
