Best performance
Has to be the Manchester United game, and not just for the result. The game showed all aspects of a great team performance. We took the game to them in the first-half and played them off the park. Inevitably, it was backs-to-the-wall stuff in the second period but we defended well and held out.A result there was long overdue and it was nice to get some decisions go our way up there following some howlers in recent years.
Worst performance
That would have to be the second-half against Panathinaikos. We should have been home and dry but for some reason we took our foot off the gas and let them back in to the game. That was two points dropped.
Manager verdict

I'm a big fan of Andre Villas-Boas. He has come in, made changes and been impressive. He has given everyone a fair chance to make an impression.
Players like Steven Caulker and Andros Townsend hardly featured in any competitions and not at all in the league under previous managers, but it is now an even playing field and everyone is getting a chance to prove themselves.
Best player
It is hard to choose just one player as so many have impressed.
I'd like to pick out Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele and Sandro as being particularly impressive this season.
Vertonghen has been a relevation since joining, even impressing at left-back while deputising for the injured Beniot Assou-Ekotto - his display against Manchester United a particular stand-out performance.
Against Reading, Dembele completed 61 of the 67 passes he attempted, while also winning 100 per cent of his tackles. He and Sandro complement each other extremely well.

We do not have any bad players!
Season's expectations
We need to consolidate and build on the fourth-place finish we achieved last season and look to take things to the next level. Nothing is perfect and we have dropped points, but we are on a good run of form with a tough test against Chelsea next week.
The only way is up!
