| Italy backup goalkeeper Sirigu will eager to stake his claim for a first-team berth at Euro 2012 after a good showing last weekend. The 25-year-old had a quiet night on Sunday as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Stade Rennais 3-0, but he was still tested on a number of occasions and rose to the challenge every time. |

Borussia Dortmund right-back Piszczek demonstrated at the weekend why he is one of the best in his position as he turned in another world-class display for his side in the 5-2 DFB-Pokal final victory against Bayern Munich. He limited the threat of Franck Ribery throughout the match, forcing the Frenchman to move to the opposite flank, and was also very active in his attacking duties. Germany international Hummels had a disappointing start to the match against Bayern in the cup final as he played Mario Gomez onside before the Bavarians scored their first goal, but he redeemed himself from then on, clearing Philipp Lahm's shot off the line and scoring from the penalty spot. Everton defender Heitinga had a match to remember on Sunday as a he played an important role in Everton's 3-1 victory over Newcastle, helping to set up Nikica Jelavic's goal with a long ball before he nodded home from close range. France left-back Evra put in a commanding performance in Manchester United's 1-0 victory against Sunderland, looking comfortable at the back while giving a helping hand to his team-mates in attack whenever he surged forward. |

Poland captain Blaszczykowski was in impressive form in the DFB-Pokal final, setting up Shinji Kagawa for the opener before he won the penalty which Hummels converted. Tottenham midfielder Modric started out on the left in Tottenham's 2-0 victory against Fulham, but it was when he was moved to the centre that he was able to show his true colours, controlling the flow of play to help ensure Spurs finished fourth in the Premier League. Modric's Croatia team-mate Rakitic turned in a solid showing in Sevilla's 1-1 draw against Espanyol as the 24-year-old assisted Alvaro Negredo and also played his part to keep the Catalans away from Andres Palop's goal. Real Madrid attacker Ozil confirmed his excellent form going into to the Euros with his Man-of-the-Match performance in Los Blancos' 4-1 thrashing of Mallorca. The German ace was all over the pitch and he grabbed a double in the second half before he almost assisted Gonzalo Higuain for a fifth goal. |

Goals, goals, goals. This is what Poland international Lewandowski has been all about this season, and the 23-year-old grabbed a hat-trick in the DFB-Pokal final as he made the most of the limited number of chances he had. The striker was also involved in Kagawa's opener. Stoke City striker Walters picked up a double in his club's 2-2 draw against Bolton, taking full advantage of Adam Bogdan's horrible mistake in the opening quarter before he slotted home from the penalty spot to send the Trotters down to the Championship. |
