West Ham proved once again that league form counts for nothing when it comes to the cup, as Avram Grant’s rock-bottom side stormed to a resounding 4-0 victory over holders and top of the table Manchester United at Upton Park.

On the back of their vital 3-1 victory over fellow relegation candidates Wigan on Saturday, the Hammers were faced with an on-song United, who had hit Blackburn for seven three-days before.
