Spanish Inquisition: 20 La Liga Players Who Could Transfer This Summer

Possible Destinations: Fenerbahce, Fulham, Hull City
The Nigerian striker has been with Almeria since 2005 but it appears that he is set to leave this summer. The 27-year-old has been linked with Turkish club Fenerbahce as well as English sides Fulham and Hull City; the Spanish side's president Afonso Garcia himself has admitted that it is up to Uche to decide whether he stays with the Andalucians or not.
2. Javi Martinez (Athletic Bilbao)
Possible Destinations: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool
The 21-year-old's profile has risen since featuring in Spain's World Cup winning squad in the summer and it is only a matter of time before the Estella-born moves elsewhere. Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona as well as Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester City have been linked with the box-to-box midfielder. Athletic are reportedly keen to revise Javi Martinez's contract but something could develop between now and the time the transfer window closes.
3. Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid)
Possible Destinations: Chelsea, Juventus, Inter
At the moment it appears that the Argentine international striker will remain at the Vicente Calderon but Aguero has indicated time and again that he would love to join Premier League champions Chelsea. Italian giants Juventus too have been linked with the 22-year-old while the latest rumours also indicate that Inter coud join the race, especially if they offload a certain Mario Balotelli.
4. Rafael Marquez (Barcelona)
Possible Destinations: Juventus, Genoa, New York Red Bulls
The Mexican international is almost certain to leave Camp Nou this summer after seven glorious years in which he won the Primera Liga title four times and the Champions League twice. The 31-year-old has been linked with Serie A sides Juventus and Genoa but it is now widely expected that he will be reunited with Thierry Henry at New York Red Bulls in the MLS and a deal could be finalised soon.

5. Aleksandr Hleb (Barcelona)
Possible Destinations: Fulham, Birmingham City, Milan
The Belarusian international midfielder was on loan at German Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart last season and is now back with Barcelona. However, Barca coach Pep Guardiola doesn't want the former Arsenal player in his squad for the upcoming season. Hleb has indicated that he wants to remain with the Spanish champions and prove himself, but Barca are likely to offload him. Italian giants Milan are the major name mentioned.
6. Andres Guardado (Deportivo la Coruna)
Possible Destinations: Benfica
The Mexican international winger is reportedly being courted by Portuguese champions Benfica. Left-winger Angel di Maria has left the Eagles for Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid, so a replacement is needed. Guardado is only 23 and has developed since arriving in Galicia in 2007.
7. Nicolas Pareja (Espanyol)
Possible Destinations: Bayern Munich, Napoli, Atletico Madrid
The Argentina centre-back has been linked with moves to Italian club Napoli, Spanish side Atletico Madrid and German superpowers Bayern Munich. Nothing concrete has emerged in any of the links but there could be developments over the coming weeks. However, Pareja has reportedly admitted that he would find it hard to turn down an offer from Atletico Madrid.
8. Juan Albin (Getafe)
Possible Destinations: Lazio
The Uruguayan striker is reportedly being courted by Serie A side Lazio, who have asked Getafe to name their price for the player. Albin has reportedly rejected talks of contract extension with Los Azulones.
9. Jesus Gamez (Malaga)
Possible Destinations: Chelsea, Valencia
The right-back was a consistent performer for Malaga in 2009-10 and has been linked with a move away. Valencia and Chelsea's names have been mentioned in the media, although anything concrete has yet to emerge.

10. Pierre Webo (Real Mallorca)
Possible Destinations: West Bromwich Albion
Mallorca are in financial ruins and have to shed players to be economically more viable. West Brom have been reported to be eager to sign striker Cameroonian international striker Pierre Webo.
11. Javad Nekounam (Osasuna)
Possible Destinations: Olympiacos
The Iranian international midfielder is one of Osasuna's prized assets and reports have emerged suggesting that the player will move to Greek giants Olympiacos, who are building a very strong and competitive squad ahead of next season. Nekounam's contract with the Pamplona side expires next year and interestingly the 29-year-old is facing disciplinary action from the club for reporting late to pre-season training.
12. Mohammed Tchite (Racing Santander)
Possible Destinations: Standard Liege, West Bromwich Albion
The Racing striker has already revealed that he is willing to leave the Cantabrians this summer and will opt for Belgian side Standard Liege so that he can enjoy his football again. The 26-year-old is also reportedly being watched by English club West Brom.
13. Royston Drenthe (Real Madrid)
Possible Destinations: Juventus, Lazio, Fiorentina, Sporting CP
The Dutchman fallen down the pecking order for Real Madrid and he was no more than a squad player last term. With the arrival of Angel di Maria and Pedro Leon, Drenthe is unlikely to get much playing time, and is likely to leave Madrid in the coming weeks. The 23-year-old has been linked with moves to Juventus, Lazio, Fiorentina and Sporting CP. A claim on his Facebook account detailing an imminent switch to Liverpool has been revealed as a hoax.
14. Rafael van der Vaart (Real Madrid)
Possible Destinations: Chelsea, Liverpool
The Dutch playmaker may have to endure another summer of uncertainty and constant transfer speculations. VDV has already expressed a strong desire to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu and the 'White House' bosses have yet to deem him surplus to requirements for the upcoming season; but depending on who else arrives between now and the end of the transfer market, Rafa remains high on the clear-out list.

15. Claudio Bravo (Real Sociedad)
Possible Destinations: Unknown
The Chile international goalkeeper had a good World Cup and this has prompted suggestions that he could be on his way out of the club. However, the 27-year-old already had a contract with la Real until the summer of 2013 and there are reports suggesting that the Basque side will give him a two-year extension.
16. Luis Fabiano (Sevilla)
Possible Destinations: Milan, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur
The Brazil international striker has been linked with a move away from Seville for a year now and this summer he could well be on his way out of the Sanchez Pizjuan. Fabiano's performance for Sevilla and the Selecao has sparked interest in Milan, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, although the 29-year-old has said that he wouldn't mind staying on with the Andalucians.
17. Diego Castro (Sporting Gijon)
Possible Destinations: Getafe
The winger has been linked with a move to Primera Liga side Getafe, who have had to sell Pedro Leon to Real Madrid in the summer and are looking for a replacement. Castro's contact with the Asturians ends in 2011 and an extension is yet to be decided. Getafe and Sporting are said to be locked in discussion over a transfer.
18. Carlos Marchena (Valencia)
Possible Destinations: Villarreal, Lyon, Everton
Villarreal could lose centre-back Diego Godin to Atletico Madrid this summer and have already started searching for a replacement. Apparently, the Yellow Submarine have identified Valencia defender/defensive midfielder Carlos Marchena as the Uruguayan international's substitute. French side Lyon and Premier League side Everton too have been linked with a move to sign the experienced Marchena.

19. Diego Godin (Villarreal)
Possible Destinations: Atletico Madrid
Reports emerged on Sunday that Europa League winners Atletico Madrid have launched a €18 million bid for the Uruguayan international midfielder. Atleti's backline need reinforcements and Godin's performance for the Yellow Submarine as well as for Uruguay at the 2010 World Cup finals have made him an attractive player this summer.
20. Jermaine Pennant (Real Zaragoza)
Possible Destinations: Unknown
Napoli have been reported to be interested in signing the former Arsenal and Liverpool winger and a number of Premier League sides, too, have been mentioned. Zaragoza are reported to be eager to offload the troubled 27-year-old but are unable to find a buyer who can meet their valuation. Nevertheless, it is very likely that by the time the new season begins, Pennant will have been shipped out.
