Calcio Debate: Italy Revolution - Who Should Stay & Who Should Go?

The Italian press is calling for the Azzurri squad to be revolutionised following the Confederations Cup shambles. Who do you believe should be dumped, and who should come in? Goal.com's Italy team offer their suggestions...

On Sunday night, Italy were thrashed 3-0 by Brazil in Confederations Cup Group B, a result which saw the Azzurri humiliatingly knocked out of the tournament in the first round with just three points from as many games.

This South African nightmare has seen coach Marcello Lippi receive a grilling in the press, with many people demanding that he now rids the squad of its dead wood, and starts installing some fresh, young talent.

Below is the rather old-looking 23-man squad that Lippi selected for the Confederations Cup:

Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus), Marco Amelia (Palermo), Morgan De Sanctis (Galatasaray)

Defenders: Fabio Cannavaro (Juventus), Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Gianluca Zambrotta (Milan) Fabio Grosso (Lyon), Davide Santon (Inter), Alessandro Gamberini (Fiorentina), Nicola Legrottaglie (Juventus), Andrea Dossena (Liverpool)

Midfielders: Mauro Camoranesi (Juventus), Gennaro Gattuso (Milan), Angelo Palombo (Sampdoria), Riccardo Montolivo (Fiorentina), Daniele De Rossi (Roma), Andrea Pirlo (Milan)

Forwards: Alberto Gilardino (Fiorentina), Vincenzo Iaquinta (Juventus), Fabio Quagliarella (Napoli), Luca Toni (Bayern Munich), Giuseppe Rossi (Villarreal), Pepe (Udinese)

Out of this pool above, who would you dump, and which players would you call-up in their place? The Goal.com Italy team offer their suggestions, but we also want to know your thoughts...
