Calcio Debate: Serie A Goal Of The Week
Every week, Goal.com asks its readers to choose the best goal in Serie A from the previous weekend. Who will get your vote for matchday 23?
It was another exciting week of Serie A action, as Inter extended their lead at the top to seven points with a 3-0 win at Lecce. Milan dropped down to third after only drawing at home to Reggina, allowing Catania’s conquerors Juventus to move above them into second. In the battle for fourth place, it is increasingly looking like a three way battle between Fiorentina, who beat Lazio 1-0, Roma and Genoa, with the Giallorossi thrashing the Rossoblu 3-0.
This week there are seven choices for Goal of the Week:
Goal 1: Marek Hamsik – Palermo v Napoli
The Slovakian shows why he is one of Europe’s best young players with a brilliant curling effort from the edge of the area.
Goal 2: Cicinho – Roma v Genoa
The first of three stunning Roma goals against Genoa. Cicinho finishes off a flowing team move involving Brighi, Totti and Perrotta.
Goal 3: Mirko Vucinic – Roma v Genoa
De Rossi surges through the Genoa midfield, and lifts a cross-field pass up to Vucinic, who crashes an incredible Marco Van Basten-style volley into the roof of the net.
Goal 4: Julio Baptista – Roma v Genoa
’The Beast’ completes a perfect afternoon for the Giallorossi, as he cuts in from the left and unleashes a thunderbolt into the top corner.
Goal 5: Alexis Sanchez – Udinese v Bologna
This game in Udine seems destined for a draw but, deep into stoppage time, super-sub Sanchez has other ideas.
Goal 6: Vincenzo Italiano – Torino v Chievo
Italiano is developing a reputation for scoring spectacular, late, long-range goals. Here is another.
Goal 7: Giampaolo Pazzini – Sampdoria v Siena
The finish from Pazzini is nothing out of the ordinary, but the assist from the mercurial Antonio Cassano certainly is, as he dribbles past four players.
Goal.com Verdict
Serie A Goal of the Week: Mirko Vucinic – Roma v Genoa (Goal 3)
