Calcio Debate: Serie A Goal Of The Week
Every week, Goal.com asks its readers to choose the best goal in Serie A from the previous weekend. Who will get your vote for matchday 14?
It was another exciting week of Serie A action, and Inter have now opened up a six point lead at the top of the table after defeating fourth-placed Napoli 2-1 at San Siro. Milan slipped up again, losing 3-1 at Palermo, and have now been joined in joint-second by Juventus, who thrashed Reggina 4-0. Roma continued their revival by edging out Fiorentina 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.
This week there are five choices for Goal of the Week:
Goal 1: Jose Castillo – Catania v Lecce
The Argentine veteran has had a promising start to his Lecce career, and he earns his side a share of the spoils in Sicily with a sweetly struck volley.
Goal 2: Sulley Muntari – Inter v Napoli
A brilliant team move from Inter, as Cruz backheels the ball into the path of Maicon, who blasts the ball across the box for Muntari to audaciously flick home.
Goal 3: Ezequiel Lavezzi – Inter v Napoli
El Pocho is a contender for Goal of the Week for the second week running. The Argentine sensation leaves Samuel for dead, plays a brilliant one-two with Zalayeta, before deliciously dinking the ball over goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
Goal 4: Mauro Camoranesi – Juventus v Reggina
This week’s goals are full of backheels. Another inspired flick by Del Piero releases Nedved in the snow of Turin, and the midfielder’s cut-back is finished off by the shoulder-clutching Camoranesi.
Goal 5: Fabrizio Miccoli – Palermo v Milan
Miccoli sends Milan on their way to another negative result by breaking the deadlock at the Stadio Barbera. The 29-year-old cuts in from the left before unleashing a ballistic missile, measured at 105 km/h, into the bottom corner.
Goal.com Verdict
Serie A Goal of the Week: Ezequiel Lavezzi – Inter v Napoli (Goal 3)
